In Las Vegas, the Clark County clerk’s office has already received 3,500 applications for marriages on November 11; usually there are only 1,000 applications per month, the International Business Times reported.

Thai film grabs top prize at Cannes

The top prize at this year's Cannes Film festival in France - the Palme d'Or - was awarded to Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul for his film, "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives."
The film, which took three years to make, tells the story of a dying man who engages in a conversation with an apparition of his late wife and his son who has reappeared in the form of a red-eyed monkey.
The runner up prize - or Grand Prix - went to French filmmaker Xavier Beauvois' "Of Gods and Men," a drama about a group of French monks confronted by terrorists in Northern Africa.
In an unforeseen twist to the evening, Tim Burton's jury named both Javier Bardem and Elio Germano best male performer for their roles in "Biutiful" and "Our Life," respectively.
French star Juliette Binoche was crowned best actress for her performance in Iranian Abbas Kiarostami's "Certified Copy," and appealed for the release of Iran's Jafar Panahi by holding up a sign with the director's name.
Korean Lee Chang-Dong, director of "Poetry," was awarded the prize for best screenplay for his story of an elderly woman challenged to write a poem for the first time in her life.
The prize for best director went to France's Mathieu Amalric for "Tournee," about a former TV producer who tours France with an eccentric group of New Burlesque performers.

Thai film wins Palme d’Or at Cannes

A Thai film has won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first Asian film to win the award in over a decade.

The top award at the festival went to Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
The film examines reincarnation through the eyes of a dying man.

“Suffering from acute kidney failure, Uncle Boonmee has chosen to spend his final days surrounded by his loved ones in the countryside. Surprisingly, the ghost of his deceased wife appears to care for him, and his long lost son returns home in a non-human form. Contemplating the reasons for his illness, Boonmee treks through the jungle with his family to a mysterious hilltop cave — the birthplace of his first life,” according to the film’s synopsis.

Pattaya is the best beach one in Thailand..that i always recommend..after crisis time..in Bangkok more than several weeks..i had been worked in Sriracha ,Chon buri...that near Pattaya...although i had been appreciated in the fantastic special area administration another one of Thailand for long time...but the difference between our special area is difference from special economic zone as if specific zone in china...the china policy y is crew inside under support about many businesses...difference from Pattaya or Bangkok...only couple special zones of us..so i losses my surprise about..why my foreigners business friend fly to re born their busines

Expensive military IT project 'Herkules' does not compute

A multi-billion-euro IT project created especially for the German military by electronics company Siemens and computer firm IBM could likely flop, a media report said on Tuesday.

An internal Defence Ministry report obtained by financial daily Handelsblatt reveals that neither project leaders nor users see a good reason for the strategic public-private partnership on the so-called “Herkules” project, the paper said.

The partnership between the two companies and the Bundeswehr was created in 2006 to form the BWI IT GmbH, with the aim of providing some 300,000 new telephones, 140,000 new computers, and a speedy data network to troops by 2010.

But according to the authors of the ministry report, repeated break-downs, malfunctions, and system failures, have led experts to believe the company can’t do the job.

“No one believes that BWI IT is a good industrial partner that is fit or flexible enough to take on the specifics of the field,” the report reads.

Members of military would rather use the Bundeswehr’s ageing IT system instead of the new one, now estimated to have cost well over €7 billion, the paper said.

BWI IT declined to give a statement about the situation, Handelsblatt said.

Serious delays and additional costs have already made Herkules the topic of negative headlines in the last few years. The parliamentary budgetary committee reportedly threatened to cut the contract in recent weeks following reports that BWI IT workers had received generous bonuses despite the company’s failure to deliver, the paper said.

(CNN) -- The United States and the European Union on Monday called on Iran to "end its abuses against its own people" amid mounting concerns about a potential rise in violence later this week.
"The United States and the European Union condemn the continuing human rights violations in Iran since the June 12 election," the U.S. and EU governments said in a joint statement.
"The large-scale detentions and mass trials, the threatened execution of protesters, the intimidation of family members of those detained and the continuing denial to its citizens of the right to peaceful expression are contrary to human rights norms," they said.
On Thursday Iran will celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic republic's founding. In the statement the United States and the European Union said, "We are particularly concerned by the potential for further violence and repression during the coming days, especially around" the anniversary.

The Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand under the patronage of His Majesty the King and the city of Hua Hin are proud to present the Hua Hin Centennial Invitation tennis match between tennis superstars Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams.
The Hua Hin Centennial Invitation will be held at Centennial Park, Hua Hin on Saturday 2 January 2010 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the seaside resort and usher in the New Year in exciting fashion with two of the most popular tennis players in the world.

Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova will warm-up for the Australian Open with a exhibition match in Thailand to mark the 100th anniversary of the Hua Hin seaside resort, according to organisers.The tennis superstars will spend New Year’s Eve in Hua Hin before their match on January 2, which will be followed by a mixed doubles clash alongside local heroes Paradorn Srichaphan and Danai Udomchoke.”I am delighted to be able to spend my New Year in Hua Hin, Thailand,” said Sharapova, who is battling to find her best form again after arthroscopic surgery a year ago to repair her right shoulder.

Founder of Miss Pakistan World pageant unhappy over Musharraf’s fall

Islamabad, Dec 22 : While most people are content with the fall of Pervez Musharraf as Pakistani President, there is someone who seems dejected-it's the founder of Miss Pakistan World pageant.
A Toronto entrepreneur, Sonia Ahmed, organises the pageant for Pakistani girls around the world.
She was planning to take the pageant to Pakistan as soon as next year, but changed the idea after the fall of President Musharraf.
She felt that the conditions in Pakistan were relatively favourable for aspiring beauty queens under Musharraf's regime, but has now decided to keep the pageant in Canada owing to the fears over the security of contestants.
"It may only be like one per cent of the total population, but the fundamentalist problem is still present in Pakistan," the Dawn quoted Ahmed as saying.
This year none of the Miss Pakistan pageant's 12 contestants reside in Pakistan. They instead hail from the United States, Canada and England.

The current reigning Miss Pakistan Natasha Paracha, 24, also hails from New York and works at the United akistanNations. (ANI)

?สอง ฟากฝั่งคลองอัมพวา วันนี้ หากเปรียบเป็นเช่นดอกไม้ ก็คงเป็นยามที่ไม้ดอกผลิดอกออกช่อ อวดสีสรรตระการตา ให้บรรดาผู้คนที่ได้พบเห็น รื่นเริงบันเทิงใจและมีสุข

สอง ฟากฝั่งคลองอัมพวาวันนี้ ได้รับการพลิกฟื้นคืนลมหายใจสู่วิถีแห่งชีวิต และเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัวขึ้นมาแล้วอย่างน่าพิศวงและน่าภาคภูมิใจเป็นที่สุด ทั้งนี้ก็ด้วยความมุ่งมั่น และการประสานความร่วมมือกันอย่างเต็มความสามารถระหว่างชาวบ้านชุมชนอัมพวา กับส่วนราชการที่เกี่ยวข้อง ทั้งส่วนกลาง ส่วนจังหวัด ส่วนท้องถิ่น สถาบันการศึกษา และที่สำคัญเหนือสิ่งอื่นใด ก็คือ พระมหากรุณาธิคุณของสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี องค์ประธานมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา ที่ได้รับพระราชทานพระราชดำริ ให้มูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาเป็นแกนกลางในการดำเนินการอนุรักษ์และพัฒนาให้สองฟากฝั่ง อัมพวากลับคืนสู่วิถีชีวิตดั้งเดิม ที่เรียบง่าย พอเพียง สงบสุข งดงาม ทีคุณค่า และดำรงศิลปวัฒนธรรมอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะท้องถิ่น ให้กลับมามีชีวิตอีกครั้งหนึ่ง?

พลิกฟื้นคืนอดีตที่ยิ่งใหญ่ของอัมพวา

สอง ฟากฝั่งคลองอัมพวา เมื่อวันวาน เคยเป็นถิ่นฐานของชุมชนริมน้ำที่สำคัญเกี่ยวเนื่องกับประวัติศาสตร์พระมหา กษัตริย์และพระราชวงศ์แห่งพระราชจักรีวงศ์ของไทยหลายพระองค์มาแต่เดิม นับแต่ปลายกรุงศรีอยุธยาเป็นต้นมา ชุมชนสองฝั่งน้ำอัมพวา หรือในอดีตเรียกว่า ?แขวงบางช้าง? นั้นมิได้มีความสำคัญแต่เพียงเป็น ?อู่ข่าว ? อู่น้ำ? ที่มีพืชพันธ์ธัญญาหารชั้นเลิศที่อุดมสมบูรณ์อย่างล้นเหลือเท่านั้น หากแต่อัมพวายังเป็นสถานที่สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ชาติไทยในสมัยต้นกรุงรัตน โกสินทร์ เนื่องเพราะเป็นสถานที่พำนักของพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกครั้งสมัย ยังดำรงพระยศเป็นหลวงยกกระบัตรแห่งกรุงศรีอยุธยา และเป็นสถานที่ประสูติของพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย องค์เอกอัครมหาศิลปินแห่งพระราชวงศ์จักรีของไทย นั่นเอง

แขวง บางช้าง หรือ อัมพวา นั้น ไม่ต้องกล่าวถึงในฐานะที่เป็นแหล่งผลิตอาหารที่มีรสชาติและคุณภาพยอดเยี่ยม ที่สุด ไม่ว่าจะเป็น ส้มโอ มะพร้าว มะปราง ลิ้นจี่ ขนุน หอม กระเทียม หมากพลู ฯลฯ พอ ๆ กับ กุ้ง หอย ปู ปลา ฯลฯ ซึ่งจะหาแหล่งที่จะผลิตได้ทั้งปริมาณและคุณภาพเหนือกว่าแขวงบางช้างนี้ได้ ยากนัก ?ตลาดบางช้าง? จึงเป็นแหล่งที่มีของกิน ?ดีหลี? (อร่อยมาก-ดีที่สุด) ของลุ่มน้ำกลอง

นอก ไปจากเป็นแหล่งอาหารที่ยอดเยี่ยมแล้ว แขวงบางช้าง ยังเป็นแหล่งผลิตศิลปินและช่างฝีมือต่าง ๆ ทั้งทางด้านดุริยางคศิลปไทย นาฎศิลปไทย ศิลปกรรม หัตถกรรม และสิ่งประดิษฐ์มากหลายเป็นที่ภาคภูมิใจของชาวอัมพวาแต่อดีตมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน

อย่าง ไรก็ตามความจำเริญรุ่งเรื่องและวันวานทีสดใสของชุมชนสองฝั่งคลองอัมพวาใน อดีตเริ่มแปรเปลี่ยนไป เพราะกระแสของการพัฒนาในแนวคิดเศรษฐกิจทุนนิยมและวัตถุนิยม ที่มุ่งเน้นการแสวงหาผลกำไรจากการใช้ประโยชน์จากทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างไม่ คำนึงถึงความสมดุลของสภาพแวดล้อมเริ่มถาโถมเข้าสู่ชุมชนอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง และในหลายกรณีเป็นการทำลายศิลปะ วัฒนธรรม สถาปัตถกรรม สถานที่ประวัติศาสตร์ และวิถีชีวิตที่ทรงคุณค่าของชุมชนไปอย่างน่าเสียดาย

เลือก สวน ไร่นา อันสมบูรณ์ร่มรื่นในอดีต แปรเปลี่ยนเป็นอาคารสิ่งปลูกสร้างที่ไม่น่าดูและไร้รสนิยม ขัดกับสภาพแวดล้อมเดิม และก่อมลพิษทางสายตา หมู่บ้านจัดสรรมากแห่งเข้าไปแทนที่สวนผลไม้ ลำน้ำที่ใสสะอาดเริ่มเกิดมีภาวะมลพิษ ตลาดน้ำที่คึกคักมีชีวิตชีวาอันเป็นวิถีดั้งเดิมของขาวอัมพวา เริ่มเงียบเหงา ซบเซาลง จากการเปลี่ยนอาชีพของผู้คนและการตั้งถิ่นฐานที่แประเปลี่ยนไปตามกระแสโลกา ภิวัฒน์ทอดทิ้งให้คลองอัพมวาและชุมชนอัมพวามีสภาพเหมือนคนป่วยใกล้สิ้นลม หายใจ

คืนลมหายใจให้ ?บางช้าง ? สวนนอก? ด้วยพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ

?บางช้าง ? สวนนอก? วันนี้ เริ่มกลับมามีชีวิตอีกครั้งหนึ่งด้วยพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ขณะที่ ?บางกอง ? สวนใน? แปรเปลี่ยนจากสภาพสวน กลายเป็นมหานครที่วุ่นวาย สับสน แออัด เต็มไปด้วยมลพิษในทุกด้านไปอย่างหลีกเลี่ยงมิได้เสียแล้วด้วยผลพวงของ ?ความเป็นทันสมัย? (Modernization) เช่นเดียวกับมหานครของประเทศเป็นที่กำลังพัฒนาทั้งหลายในโลกนี้

ล่องคลองอัมพาวา ย้อนอดีตสุนทรภู่ ดูแสงหิ่งห้อย ในคืนก่อนวันรับเสด็จฯ

คณะ เจ้าหน้าที่มูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาและองค์กรต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องในการเตรียมรับเสด็จพระราชดำเนิน เพื่อตรวจผลความคืบหน้าในการดำเนินงานฯ ส่วนหนึ่งได้พักแรมที่ตำบลอัมพวา เมื่อคืนวันที่ 3 กุมภาพันธ์ เพื่อความสะดวกในการรับเสด็จฯ และถวายงานในบ่ายวันรุ่งขึ้นคือ วันที่ 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2549

คืนนั้นร้อยโทพัชรโรดม อุดม สุวรรณ นายกเทศมนตรีอัมพวา ผู้ซึ่งมีส่วนอย่างมากในการช่วยพลิกฟื้นชีวิตอัมพวาขึ้นมาใหม่โดยเฉพาะใน เรื่องตลาดน้ำ ได้กรุณานำคณะเจ้าหน้าที่รวมทั้งท่านเลขาธิการมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาลอยเรือล่องไป ตามลำน้ำคลองอัมพาวา เพื่อดูแสงหิ่งห้อยบนต้นลำพูยามราตรีที่แสนสงบและสวยงาม หลายคนนึกถึงบทกวีของพระศรีสุนทรโวหาร ที่ว่า

๐ พอออกช่องสองลำแม่น้ำกว้าง บ้านบางช้างแฉกแชไปแควขวา

ข้างซ้ายตรงลงทะเลพอเวลา พระสุริยามืดมัวทั่วแผ่นดิน

ดูซ้านขาวป่าปะโลงหวายโป่งเป้ง ให้วังเวงหวั่นไหวฤทัยถวิล

เวลาเย็นเห็นนกวิหกบิน ไปหากินแล้วก็พากันมารัง

บ้างเคียงคู่ชูคอเสียงซ้อแซ้ โอ้แลแลแล้วก็ให้อาลัยหลัง

แม้นร่วมเรือนเหมือนนกที่กกรัง จะได้นั่งแนบข้างเหมือนอย่างนก

นี่กระไรไม่มีเท่ากี่ก้อย โอ้บุญน้อยนึกน่าน้ำตาตก

ต้องลมว่าวหนาวหนังเหมือนคั้งคก จะได้กกกอดใครก็ไม่มี...

คณะ ทำงานทุกคนกลับเข้าสู่ที่พักด้วยความตื่นตาตื่นใจกับแสงหิ่งห้อยตามต้นลำพู ที่ชายน้ำที่พลายแสงแข่งกับดาวบนท้องฟ้าเมื่อใกล้เวลาค่อนคืน เพื่อเตรียมงานสำคัญในวันรุ่งขึ้นทุกคนดีใจที่ได้พบหิ่งห้อย แม้จำนวนน้อยกว่าเดิม เพราะนั่นย่อมหมายความว่าสภาพแวดล้อมทางธรรมชาติยังมีโอกาสที่จะเยียวยาได้

บ่าย ของวันที่ 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2549 นับเป็นอีกวาระหนึ่งที่สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ได้เสด็จฯที่เรือนไม้แถวริมคลองอัมพวา ที่เป็นกรรมสิทธิ์ส่วนหนึ่งในที่ดินของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา ที่นางสาวประยงค์ นา คะวรังค์ คหบดีชาวอัมพวา ได้น้อมเกล้าฯ ถวายไว้ เพื่อเป็นศูนย์การอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมและศิลปกรรมของชุมชนอัมพวาและเพื่อ ประโยชน์อื่นของมูลนิธิฯ

เมื่อ เสด็จฯ มาถึง ชาวชุมชนคลองอัมพวาทั้งสองฟากฝั่ง และบริเวณใกล้เคียง ต่างพากันเข้ามาชมพระบารมีกันแน่นขนัด ส่วนในลำคลองก็แออัดไปด้วยเรือพายขายสินค้า และอาหารการกินต่าง ๆ เหมือนภาพจำลองชีวิตในอดีต หากแต่เป็นความจริงที่อัมพวาพลิกฟื้น คืนลมหายใจ กลับมีชีวิตชีวาขึ้นอีกครั้งหนึ่ง ด้วยพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ

หลัง จากทอดพระเนตรผลงานการก่อสร้างปรับปรุงเรือนแถวไม้ริมคลองของมูลนิธิชัย พัฒนา และแผนงานอนุรักษ์ศิลปกรรมและสิ่งแวดล้อมทางวัฒนธรรมตำบลอัมพวาแล้ว ได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปเยี่ยมชมร้านค้าหัตถกรรมพื้นบ้าน และทรงอุดหนุนร้านกาแฟโบราณในพื้นที่ห้องแถวไม้ริมน้ำของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา

ที่ สำคัญและมีสีสันมากที่สุดและนับเป็นศิริมงคลอย่างยิ่งใหญ่หาที่สุดมิได้ของ การเสด็จฯ ไปทรงเยี่ยมเยียนสองฝั่งคลองอัมพวาในครั้งนี้ ก็คือ การเสด็จลงไปที่ท่าน้ำหน้าห้องแถวไม้และซื้อของเสวยนานาชาติด้วยพระองค์เอง จากแม่ค้า พ่อค้า เรือพายหลากหลาย ที่พายเรือทยอยเข้าขายสินค้าของตน และส่งของให้กับพระหัตถ์ เป็นที่ปลาบปลื้มปิติยินดีกันถ้วนหน้าใบหน้าที่เบิกบานเปี่ยมสุขของผู้คนยาม นี้เปรียบเสมือนดอกไม้บานสะพรั่งทั่วสองฝั่งคลองอัมพวานั่นทีเดียว

วันนี้ นับว่าเป็นวันเริ่มพลิกฟื้นคืนลมหายใจ

นางหมุยเกียง แซ่ เอี้ยว อายุ 73 ปี อาชีพค้าขาย เป็นผู้เช่าห้องแถวมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา มีอาชีพค้าขายทางเรือและขับเรือหางยาวส่งของตามร้านค้าในคลองอัมพวาทุกวัน เช่น ขนมขบเคี้ยว

?ดีใจ มากที่มูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาเข้ามาพัฒนาพื้นที่ให้มีความน่าอยู่มากกว่าเดิม และปรับปรุงซ่อมแซมเรียนแถวที่เคยชำรุดทรุดโทรมให้อยู่ในสภาพทีใหม่และน่า อยู่มากขึ้น ผู้คนเริ่มตื่นตัวดูแลอนรักษ์บ้านเรือนของตน เพื่อให้นักท่องเที่ยวเข้ามาเยี่ยมชม และที่สำคัญป้าบอกว่า เกิดมาไม่เคยได้เข้าเฝ้าฯ เจ้าฟ้าแผ่นดินใกล้ชิดขนาดนี้ รู้สึกว่ามีบุญมากเหลือเกินฯ และไม่ใช่เฉพาะป้าเท่านั้น คนในคลองอัมพวา โดยฉพาะคนที่อยู่ในพื้นที่ของมูลนิธิฯ ต่างรู้สึกเช่นเดียวกันไม่ต่างจากป้าหมุยเกียงเลย

ในวันนั้น สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เสด็จฯ ผ่านห้องแถวของคุณประทีป มีรับสั่วว่า ?มีของเก่าเก็บเยอะดี น่าสนใจ? รู้สึกดีใจมากที่ได้เข้าเฝ้าฯ ใกล้ชิด แต่เสียดายที่พระองค์ไม่ได้เสด็จฯ เข้าไปทอดพระเนตรภายใน เพราะในวันนั้นญาติพี่น้องและเพื่อนฝูงมารอเฝ้าฯ อยู่ในบ้านจนเต็มไปหมด เพราะต่างรักและชื่นชมพระองค์กันมากทุกคน

นายบรรเลง ยิ้ม บุญณะ อายุ 53 ปี ทำงานศิลปะทีเกี่ยวกับกะลา เป็นผู้เช่าบ้านของมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา เพื่อเป็นที่จัดแสดงสินค้าและขายสินค้าที่เกี่ยวกับกะลา มีร้านชื่อว่า ?กะลาบันเลง?

ในวันที่มีโอกาสรับเสด็จฯ มีความภูมิใจมาก เพราะมีรับสั่งว่าทรงสนพระทัยงานศิลปะมาก และรับสั่งถามว่า ?ทำมานานหรือยัง? พร้อมกันนี้ ได้มีโอกาสทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายตุ๊กตาสวัสดีที่ทำจากกะลามะพร้าว และที่น่าปลาบปลื้มใจกว่านั้น คือ ร้านกาแฟโบราณจำลองที่มูลนิธิฯ จัดทำขึ้น และสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ ได้เสด็จฯ เข้าไปในร้านนั้น แก้วกาแฟที่ใช้เป็นวัสดุจากกะลาฝีมือคุณบรรเลงทั้งสิ้น คุณบรรเลงดีใจมากที่ได้เข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในคางการพัฒนาทีดินของมูลนิธิฯ และตั้งใจที่จะเผยแพร่งานกะลาให้เป็นที่รู้จักมากขึ้น พร้อมทั้งยินดีที่จะถ่ายทอดความรู้ให้ผู้ที่สนใจด้วย

Cruz managed to fire at this male, who then fled the scene. Officer Cruz, who had been stabbed just above the left ear resulting in a puncture wound to his skull and brain, was still able to chase the perpetrator down a flight of stairs and hold him until back-up officers arrived. Responding officers found Officer Cruz in a semi-conscious state and transported him to the hospital in a police vehicle. Even though he suffered an epidural hemorrhage to a portion of his brain, Officer Cruz made a complete recovery and returned to full duty on October 1, 2007. He was promoted to Detective last year. (CNN) -- American actor David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel, according to his personal manager, Chuck Binder.

David Carradine became famous in the 1970s after starring in the television series "Kung Fu."

Binder said Thursday that the death is being investigated but could provide no other details.

Carradine's death was "shocking and sad. He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person," Binder said, according to People magazine.

Carradine, who became famous in the 1970s when he starred as Kwai Chang Caine in the television series "Kung Fu," was 72.

Modern audiences may best know him as "Bill" in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films. iReport: Share memories of David Carradine

His career included more than 100 feature films, two dozen television movies and theater work, according to the Internet Movie Database.

Carradine, who was married five times and divorced four, is survived by his widow, Annie Bierman, according to People magazine.
